Position Overview
SCPA is seeking a warm, professional, and reliable Weekend Receptionist to serve as the first point of contact for patients and families during weekend clinic hours. This role is essential in maintaining a welcoming environment and ensuring smooth front desk operations. The Weekend Receptionist will work Saturdays and Sundays from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM at our downtown clinic location.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet patients, parents, and caregivers with eye contact and a friendly smile.
- Answer incoming calls promptly and return voicemail messages before phones go off service at 12 PM.
- Handle scheduling, inquiries, and patient flow using patient identifiers to avoid chart duplication.
- Schedule appointments according to physician preferences and insurance guidelines.
- Promote the patient portal and assist with online payment setup.
- Collect co-pays and deductibles at the time of visit.
- Verify insurance for all patients during check-in.
- Coordinate referrals and follow up on outcomes to ensure continuity of care.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Respond to requests from internal teams including CBO collections and clerical educators.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support weekend operations.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior experience in a medical office or customer service setting preferred.
- Bilingual skills are a plus.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and maintain professionalism under pressure.
